Her research interests include the interaction of linguistics and NLP, computational semantics, multilingual grammar engineering, and the societal impact of language technology.

How does it change our approach to building, testing and deploying natural language technology when we keep the language in focus? In this talk, I will explore a variety of ways in which linguists’ understanding of our object of study is crucial to building robust and equitable language technology and, in some cases, deciding what technology not to build.
