The integration of multimodality into grammatical theory has attracted the interest of researchers working in Gesture Studies, Cognitive Linguistics and Construction Grammar for some time now. This talk discusses theoretical aspects of multimodality in a Construction Grammar framework and presents methods to speed up the corpus-based study of multimodal phenomena in a large corpus of TV news.
