Neil Cohn is an American cognitive scientist best known for his pioneering research on the overlap in cognition between graphic communication and language. His books, The Visual Language of Comics (2013) and Who Understands Comics? (2020), establish a foundation for the linguistic and psychological study of graphics. He received his PhD in cognitive psychology at Tufts University and is an Associate Professor at the Department of Cognition and Communication at Tilburg University in The Netherlands. Asli Ozyurek is a Full Professor at the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behavior (Faculty of Social Sciences) and affiliated researcher at Center for Languages Studies at Radboud University and Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics.
