Time and temporal order are often represented only implicitly in phonological diagrams. In this talk I argue from several perspectives that the basic ordering relation for speech and phonology is <, which does not require temporal contiguity. Pesquisas recentes têm contribuído para o conhecimento das línguas indígenas com novas descobertas e novos aportes para teorias linguísticas, em especial para teorias formais da sintaxe, e abordando tópicos pouco explorados como negação, switch reference, subordinação, entre outros. Quatro jovens pesquisadores apresentam os resultados de suas investigações.
